Creating a QR code

The generator walks you through three steps: Select Type, Enter Details, and Preview & Download.

1. Select a type

  1. Click Create New Code at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Under Select Type, choose what the code should open: a Link, a vCard, Wi-Fi details, a Menu, and so on.

2. Enter your details

  1. Fill in the form for your type. For a Link, that is the web address.
  2. If the type offers a choice, pick Static QR or Dynamic QR. Choose dynamic if you might want to change the destination later or see scan analytics. See "Static or dynamic: which QR code should I make?".
  3. Optionally, change the design with the Pattern, Eye, Logo, Colour, Frame and Templates tabs. See "Customising your QR code's design".
  4. Click Generate QR Code.

If something is missing, a "Please complete before generating" box tells you what to fix.

3. Preview and download

  1. Check the preview. It updates as you change the design.
  2. Give the code a name under QR Code Name. Only you see the name.
  3. Optionally choose a folder under Add to Folder, or create a new one there.
  4. Pick a File Format (PNG, PDF, SVG or EPS) and a QR Size.
  5. Click the download button. It names the format you picked, for example Download PNG. If you are not signed in, it says Register & Download.

Your code is saved to My QR Codes, where you can find, edit and track it later.

Tips

  • Scan your downloaded code with your own phone before you print it.
  • If you change your details after generating, the preview says "This code still points at your previous destination". Press Generate QR Code again before you download.
  • On a phone, the same three steps appear one screen at a time.
