Dynamic QR codes

Editing a dynamic QR code

A dynamic QR code points to a short Enqode tracking link, and that link sends people on to your content. Because the printed code never changes, you can change the destination as often as you like and every copy you have already printed follows along.

Change the destination

  1. In the sidebar, open My QR Codes.
  2. Click Analytics on the code you want to change. This opens the code's own page.
  3. Click Edit Details at the top right. You can also click Edit next to Destination URL.
  4. Change the destination. For a Link code this is the Destination URL field. For page-based types such as vCard, Menu, Landing Page or Multi-URL, the window shows that type's form, so you can change the content itself.
  5. Click Save changes.

You will see a "Saved" message. The next scan of your code goes to the new destination.

What else you can change in the same window

  • QR Name: the name you see in your dashboard. Scanners never see it.
  • Folder: moves the code into another folder straight away, without waiting for Save.
  • Description: an internal note that only you and your team see.

Things to know

  • Only dynamic codes can be changed after printing. A static code has its destination written into the pattern itself, so a printed static code always opens what it was made with. See "Static or dynamic: which QR code should I make?".
  • Editing does not reset your scan history. Scans before and after the change stay on the same code.
  • To test the change, copy the Tracking link shown on the code's page and open it in a browser. This counts as a scan.
